Schumacher dominates the race after David Coulthard stalls at the
start of the formation lap forcing him to the back of the grid. Rubens Barrichello finishes second making it a 1-2 Ferrari. Eddie Irvine puts the Jaguar in 3rd. Jacques Villeneuve manages to finish in 4th ahead of David Coulthard who started from the back of the grid. Jean Alesi secures a point finishing in 6th place. Mika Hakkinen starting from 3rd struggles with a steering problem and retires. Ralf Schumacher retires with an electrical problem Juan Pablo Montoya retires after crashing into a barrier 2 laps into the race. 10 cars finished the race with only 4 of them on the same lap. Ferrari and Arrows finished both of their cars. Jordan, Williams and Minardi fail to finish either of their cars. |
