1 min: Most of the cars are on the track..

Session underway and the cars stream out of the pits for their installation lap headed by Takuma Sato.

The times from this session are expected to be a bit slower than the best from Thursday as the track will be initially slower. However the times will tumble quickly and expect to see over a 1.5 second improvement on last year's pole time . Sessions starting in 2 minutes

A number of drivers crashed their cars on this track on Thursday including Raikkonen, de la Rosa, Yoong, Massa and Irvine. They all lost valuable practice time but it will be worse for anyone who crashes during the practice sessions today as they make their final adjustments for the all important Qualifying session this afternoon. Sessions starting in 4 minutes

The results from Thursday were unexpected with Trulli topping the timesheets ahead of McNish and Coulthard. Fisichella, Salo and Ralf Schumacher making the top 6. While this circuit produces unexpected results, it is thought that some of those drivers were running a light fuel load. Session starting in 8 minutes.

Session  starting at 9:00 AM local time. It is mainly sunny with a temperature of 19 degrees.
