The 2004 race

Top 8 Highlights 
1. Jarno Trulli - Renault Jarno Trulli wins the race from Pole with Jenson Button closing in towards the end of the race but has to settle for second.
Rubens Barrichello benefits from the many retirements ahead of him to finish 3rd.
Montoya finishes 4th a lap behind ahead of Massa, da Matta, Heidfeld and Panis.
A pile up as a result of smoke from Sato's engine failure saw 4 cars retiring early in the race.
Kimi Raikkonen retired with an engine failure.
Alonso trying to lap Ralf Schumacher crashed in the tunnel and Montoya put Michael into a spin as they were following the safety car!.
Always expect bizarre accidents at Monaco!
10 cars were classified as finishers although Baumgartner was 6 laps behind and Ralf Schumacher was 8 laps behind!.
Williams and Toyota managed to finish both of their cars.
McLaren and Jaguar failed to finish either of their cars.

The 2003 race

Top 8 Highlights 
1. Juan Pablo Montoya - Williams Juan Pablo Montoya wins the race after starting from 3rd ahead of Kimi Raikkonen and Michael Schumacher. Ralf Schumacher only managed 4th despite starting from Pole while Alonso managed 5th after starting from 8th. Trulli, Coulthard and Barrichello made the top 8.
The top 8 in qualifying finished in the top 8 with a number of positions changed.
13 cars finished the race. BAR's Jenson Button was withdrawn from the race due to a high speed crash in practice. 
Williams, McLaren, Ferrari, Renault, Toyota and Jordan managed to finish both of their cars.
Minardi and Jaguar failed to finish either of their cars while BAR failed to finish the only car they raced with.
