1. | Kimi Raikkonen - McLaren | Kimi Raikkonen wins the race comfortably ahead of the Williams pair of Nick Heidfeld and Mark Webber. Fernando Alonso manages 4th despite having major problems with his tyres. Montoya, Ralf and Michael Schumacher and Barrichello catch up with Alonso but finish in that order. Michael makes a move on Barrichello a few laps from the end. 14 cars were classified. McLaren, Williams, Renault, Toyota, Ferrari, Sauber managed to finish both their cars. Red Bull failed to finish either of their cars. The BAR Honda team was banned from this event. |

1. | Jarno Trulli - Renault | Jarno Trulli wins the race from Pole with Jenson Button closing in
towards the end of the race but has to settle for second. Rubens Barrichello benefits from the many retirements ahead of him to finish 3rd. Montoya finishes 4th a lap behind ahead of Massa, da Matta, Heidfeld and Panis. A pile up as a result of smoke from Sato's engine failure saw 4 cars retiring early in the race. Kimi Raikkonen retired with an engine failure. Alonso trying to lap Ralf Schumacher crashed in the tunnel and Montoya put Michael into a spin as they were following the safety car!. Always expect bizarre accidents at Monaco! 10 cars were classified as finishers although Baumgartner was 6 laps behind and Ralf Schumacher was 8 laps behind!. Williams and Toyota managed to finish both of their cars. McLaren and Jaguar failed to finish either of their cars. |
