Hungarian Formula One Grand Prix - Race(07/26/2009)
12:36 Welcome to our race coverage of the 2009 Hungarian Formula 1 Grand Prix
12:40 The latest on Felipe Massa's is that he is in a stable condition with no complications through the night. He will be getting another CT scan today
12:42 Race starts in under 20 minutes. Conditions are dry, partly cloudy and air temperature is at 20 degrees
12:47 Alonso starts from Pole ahead of Vettel and Webber however he is light with significantly less fuel than everyone else. His car weight is 637.5 while the rest are 650 or more. He could be on a 3 stopper
12:51 Of course Jaime Alguersuari today becomes the youngest ever Formula 1 driver. He starts in 20th place
12:53 Jenson Button starts from 8th however he is the heaviest from Q3 as he could only make 1 run in Q3 as the team had to make changes to his car as a result of Barrichello's car failure

Apologies, only 19 starters today as Felipe Massa will not be racing today due to his injuries but thankfully he is stable and we wish him a full and speedy recovery

12:58 Air temperature is now at 25 degrees. Track temperature at 43 degrees. Formation lap in 2 minutes
1:00 Formation lap underway!
1:01 KERS drivers: Hamilton starts from 4th, Kovalainen in 6th and Raikkonen in 7th, will they gain a lot of places today ?
1:02 Alonso starting on the super softs as he arrives at the starting grid
1:02 Lights!
1:03 Alonso has a good start, Hamilton gets into second but loses to Webber
1:04 It was crucial for Alonso to stay in the lead as he is very light

Vettel lost out at the start, he is in 7th

1:08 Sutil is in the pits with a water pressure problem
1:09 Replay shows Raikkonen and Vettel may have touched at the start
1:09 Hamilton takes second from Webber
1:11 Hamilton now flying as he drops Webber and chases Alonso
1:11 Hamilton fastest lap so far with a 1:23.218
1:13 Fastest lap again for Hamilton with a 1:23.207
1:15 Alonso seems to have a problem with his right rear tyre. Hamilton now just 1.4 seconds behind
1:16 Now Webber comes back and sets a 1:23.190

Alonso pits early

1:21 It looks like his right wheel is loose
1:22 Alonso loses the front tyre

They have changed the front nose, checked the car and let Vettel back out

1:43 What a race! Now Trulli makes his first stop
1:43 Trulli has rejoined ahead of Button
1:44 So on lap 29, Hamilton leads from Raikkonen by 6.1 seconds. Glock is in 3rd, yet to stop

2:01 Lap 41: Hamilton leads Raikkonen by 7.4 seconds. Webber is a further 15.2 seconds behind

McLaren ready for Hamilton ?

2:04 Button in 8th, 3.7 seconds behind Trulli but just 1.9 seconds ahead of Piquet
