The race was affected by heavy rain fall early in the race forcing several cars to go off. The safety car was brought out but once it went back in, the Ferrari's recovered and won comprehensively with Michael Schumacher leading Rubens Barrichello. |

He rejoins at the back of the field but manages to finish 4th. 12 cars finish the race with Ferrari, McLaren and Benetton finishing both their cars. Both Williams and Minardi fail to finish either of their cars |
