First Saturday Practice Session Report - Results

Michael Schumacher repeated what David Coulthard did yesterday dominating the session by a margin of 0.65 seconds from Mika Hakkinen and David Coulthard. Rubens Barrichello was 4th with a time exactly the same as David Coulthard. The 2 Jordans came in 5th and 6th over a second off the pace.

The Sauber pair were next in 7th and 8th followed by Ralf Schumacher and the fastest Michelin man while the BAR pair only managed 10th and 11th. 

It is hard to make any conclusions but it appears that qualifying will be a Ferrari - McLaren fight while Jordan, Williams, Sauber and BAR will fight for the top 10 positions.

Both Olivier Panis and Tarso Marques covered the most number of laps with 15 followed by David Coulthard and Luciano Burti with 14 laps each. Fernando Alonso had problems with his car covering 4 laps, Alesi only managed 8 while both Michael Schumacher and Mika Hakkinen only covered 9 laps. Most other drivers covered between 10 and 13 laps.

There were no major incidents during the session.
