Schumacher wins the race ahead of Fernando Alonso and Rubens
Barrichello. Juan Pablo Montoya finishes 4th more than a minute behind while Ralf Schumacher in 5th is a lap down. It was the first race for the Ferrari F2003 but Alonso did fight the Ferraris and managed to take second from Barrichello. David Coulthard and Kimi Raikkonen both retired due to accidents and so did Jarno Trulli. 12 cars were classified as finishers with Ferrari, Williams and Minardi finishing both their cars, McLaren failed to finish either car. |

Top 6 | Highlights | |
1. | Michael Schumacher - Ferrari | Michael
Schumacher leads from start to finish (including the pit stops)
displaying absolute dominance. Montoya manages second ahead of
Coulthard while problems for the rest of drives from the top 3
teams allows the Sauber pair to finish in 4th and 5th with
Frentzen scoring a point for Arrows. Barrichello fails to get his car going at the formation lap. Raikkonen retires with a rear wing failure. Ralf Schumacher makes a mistake and damages his front wing dropping out of contention. The 2 Renaults of Trulli and Button also struggle with problems. 12 cars were classified with Sauber and Toyota finishing both their cars (Both Renaults were classified but had actually stopped before the finish), Jaguar and Jordan failed to finish either of their cars. Minardi withdrew from the race due to multiple wing failures. |
