Sep.24 (GMM) The street circuit is wet for Friday evening's first practice session of the Singapore grand prix weekend.

With black clouds overhead, the track was in the process of drying after some earlier showers.

But a huge downpour with just over half an hour to go until the first 90-minute practice session at 6pm local time has guaranteed a wet track for the F1 cars.

The high humidity in Singapore means that, as has been observed earlier this week, the circuit takes a long time to dry after rain.
