Mar.10 (GMM) Jules Bianchi’s father has not ruled out taking action against those “responsible” for the horror crash at Suzuka five months ago.
Little has been heard from the French driver’s family in the past weeks, but Philippe Bianchi says that is because there has been little to report.
“Jules is still in a coma,” he told Italy’s La Gazzetta dello Sport on Tuesday.
“As long as he does not wake up, the only thing we can do is wait.
“It takes patience, a lot of patience, but it is difficult to know that at any moment a terrible call could be coming from the hospital.
“We have to be strong, like Jules and for Jules,” Mr Bianchi added.
“As long as he is in this state, the doctors cannot say anything. He might wake up or he might not.
“I think he will, as he has not fought with us this long for nothing.”
Back in the world of F1, the new season is dawning and this weekend 20 cars will line up on the Melbourne grid, just as Bianchi did a year ago.
“What can you say?” said Philippe. “The show must go on, you have to accept it. That’s life.”
But beyond that, he hinted that the Bianchi family is not ready to simply draw the Suzuka chapter to a close, even though the FIA has concluded its investigation.
Mr Bianchi said the family has hired a lawyer.
“We still do not know what we will do, but certainly it was not a normal racing situation,” he said.
“If there is someone who is responsible for it, he will have to pay for it, without question.”
