Apr.27 (GMM) Bernie Ecclestone on Sunday rubbished reports that he has withdrawn his longstanding support for fellow formula one powerbroker Max Mosley.
We reported before the Spanish grand prix that the 77-year-old F1 chief executive made it clear in the team bosses meeting at Barcelona on Saturday that he wants Mosley, the embattled FIA president, to stand down because of the sex scandal. So strongly did Ecclestone defend his view that, according to paddock insiders, he visibly lost his composure when representatives for Williams, Ferrari and Red Bull refused to sign a statement asking for Mosley's resignation that would have been distributed to the media."That's a load of nonsense," Ecclestone said at the Circuit de Catalunya. "It's just the press trying to conjure up another story."
