Oct.9 (GMM) Jenson Button won the Japanese grand prix but, as the Suzuka spectator's sign confirmed, "Today is Vettel's day". Reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel mathematically clinched his second consecutive title by finishing third, also behind Fernando Alonso. "We would have loved to win it but Sebastian is world champion," said Red Bull team boss Christian Horner on BBC 1 television. Vettel, despite failing to win a fourth consecutive race on the trot, was emotional as he thanked his team in the post-race press conference: "Sorry this (speech) is so long," smiled the 24-year-old German.
