Jan.27 (GMM) Ho-Pin Tung insists he is still in the running to secure the vacant race seat at Renault in 2010.

It was reported earlier this week that the newly Genii Capital-controlled team has signed the Gravity Sport managed Jerome d'Ambrosio as well as Tung to be joint reserve drivers.

But while the Russian GP2 driver Vitaly Petrov is believed favourite to be Robert Kubica's race teammate, the 27-year-old Dutch born Chinese Tung insists he is also still in the running.

"I would be satisfied with a test driver role but it goes without saying that I would rather race in 2010," Tung is quoted as saying by the Belgian website f1journaal.be.

"I am waiting but looking forward to an announcement in the days to come," he added.
