Feb.18 (GMM) Former grand prix driver Takuma Sato has signed for the 2010 season with an Indycar team.

The 33-year-old Japanese raced in formula one nearly 100 times, for Jordan, BAR and Super Aguri.

Following the demise of the latter team in mid 2008, he had hoped to mount a return to F1.

But his management confirmed on Thursday that Sato will drive for Indianapolis-based KV Racing Technology this season.

"I really missed racing last year and can't wait to get started in this new challenge with such a great team," said Sato.
