Final Order - Michael Schumacher, Rubens Barrichello, Juan Pablo Montoya, David Coulthard, Ralf Schumacher and Eddie Irvine make the top 6.
Salo, Villeneuve, McNish, Heidfeld, Sato and Panis make the rest of the classified drivers.
Fisichella, de la Rosa, Massa, Raikkonen, Trulli, Davidson, Button and Webber retired from the race.

Final lap .... Michael continues to slow .... but crosses the line ahead of Rubens Barrichello and wins the race and sets a new record for the number of wins in a single season with 10.
Montoya finishes in 4th ahead of Coulthard and Ralf Schumacher while Eddie Irvine scores a point for Jaguar!

Lap 43 : Michael Schumacher continues to slow down. He is only 6 seconds ahead of Rubens. Will he give him the win ?

Lap 42 : Coulthard in 4th is just half a second behind Montoya and pushing hard!

Lap 41 : The 2 Ferraris have now backed off with both drivers lapping in the 1:51's

Lap 40/44 : Order - M Schumacher, Barrichello, Montoya, Coulthard, R Schumacher, Irvine, Salo, Villeneuve, McNish, Heidfeld and Sato. Retirements: Olivier Panis, Giancarlo Fisichella, Felipe Massa, Pedro de al Rosa, Jarno Trulli, Kimi Raikkonen, Anthony Davidson, Jenson Button and Mark Webber.

Lap 40 : Panis retires with an engine failure!

Lap 39 : And Fisichella suffers a massive engine failure with flames going out the back of his car! Lots of oil on the track.

Lap 39 : Michael Schumacher leads Rubens Barrichello by 16 seconds. Montoya is in 3rd 45 seconds behind.

Lap 38 : More retirements, de la Rosa suffers a suspension failure while Massa suffers an engine failure!

Lap 38 : Michael Schumacher continues to back off and is now the slowest car on the track!

Lap 38/44 : Top 10 - M Schumacher, Barrichello, Montoya, Coulthard, R Schumacher, Irvine, Salo, de la Rosa, Fisichella and Villeneuve. Retirements: Jarno Trulli, Kimi Raikkonen, Anthony Davidson, Jenson Button and Mark Webber.

Lap 37 : And Jarno Trulli retires!

Lap 37 : Michael Schumacher has dropped his pace considerably. He is lapping almost 2 seconds slower than Barrichello. He is 20 seconds ahead

Lap 37 : Kimi Raikkonen suffers an engine failure and retires!

Lap 36 : Coulthard now pits ... 6.2 seconds ... rejoins behind Montoya!

Lap 35 : Ralf Schumacher has caught up with Trulli and is battling with him for 6th!

Lap 34 : And Raikkonen makes his second pit stop ... 8.2 seconds for Raikkonen. He rejoins behind Montoya

Lap 33 : Juan Pablo Montoya pits from 3rd ... 7.4 seconds. The 2 McLarens and Fisichella have yet to stop. Fisichella is expected to be on a single stop though. The McLarens are questionable.

Lap 32 : Ralf Schumacher pits ...he loses a bit of time getting away .... and rejoins behind Trulli who he is battling with! Villeneuve is between Trulli and Ralf but has yet to stop.

Lap 31 : Barrichello pits  .... 9.1 seconds and rejoins in second.

Lap 31 : It is very busy in the pitlane at the moment with many drivers pitting for their seconds stop.

Lap 31 : Barrichello leads Michael by just over a second but is expected to stop.

Lap 30 : And Michael Schumacher pits ... 8.8 seconds and he rejoins in second right behind Barrichello!

Lap 29 : Felipe Massa pits for his second stop. 9 seconds.

Lap 29 : Michael Schumacher has lapped Nick Heidfeld in 14th!

Lap 28 : Takuma Sato pits from 17th. He is the first to make his second pit stop.

Lap 27/44 : Top 10 - M Schumacher, Barrichello, Montoya, Coulthard, Raikkonen, Trulli, R Schumacher, Irvine, Salo and de la Rosa. Retirements: Anthony Davidson, Jenson Button and Mark Webber.

Lap 26 : And now Michael is catching Fisichella and Panis! 

Lap 25 : Despite this being the longest track on the calendar, Michael Schumacher has now lapped Takuma Sato in 17th! 

Lap 25 : Meanwhile at the front, Michael Schumacher continues to increase the gap, he is now over 20 seconds ahead of Rubens. Montoya is a massive 47 seconds behind!

Lap 24 : Fisichella in 15th is being chased by Panis in 16th. Fisichella is on a single stop while Panis is likely to be on a 2 stopper.

Lap 24 : An interesting battle between McNish in 12th and the 2 Sauber drivers!

Lap 23 : Heidfeld is now trying to pass Massa!

Lap 23 : Michael now leads Rubens by 18 seconds.

Lap 22 : Felipe Massa tries to capitalise on a mistake by McNish puts fails to overtake.

Lap 22 : Fisichella rejoins in 15th.

Lap 22 : At this stage Michael is lapping over half a second faster than Barrichello and a second faster than Montoya. Fisichella pits. He is the last to make his pit stop.

Lap 21 : Michael Schumacher leads Rubens Barrichello by 16 seconds. Montoya in 3rd is 36 seconds behind!

Lap 21/44 : Top 10 - M Schumacher, Barrichello, Montoya, Coulthard, Raikkonen, Fisichella (yet to stop), Trulli, R Schumacher, Irvine, and Salo. Retirements: Anthony Davidson, Jenson Button and Mark Webber.

Lap 20 : But Coulthard pits now ... 8.7 seconds .. he rejoins ahead of Raikkonen but behind Montoya.

Lap 20 : Only Coulthard and Fisichella have not stopped.

Lap 19 : Anthony Davidson spins and retires. The 2 Minardis are out of the race.

Lap 19 : Juan Pablo Montoya and Kimi Raikkonen pit at the same time!

Lap 18 : Ralf Schumacher pits. Meanwhile Raikkonen in 3rd is pushing Montoya.

Lap 17 : Barrichello rejoins behind Coulthard.

Lap 17 : Rubens Barrichello pits and Michael re-takes the lead. Rubens stop was a slow 10.2 seconds.

Lap 17 : Ralf Schumacher spins but recovers. 

Lap 17 : Rubens Barrichello is now in the lead with Michael Schumacher in second. 

Lap 16 : And Michael Schumacher pits ... 8.6 seconds

Lap 16 : Eddie Irvine and Jacques Villeneuve pit as well.

Lap 15 : And Takuma Sato pits and has a problem. It takes him 17 seconds in the pits!

Lap 15 : Michael Schumacher now leads Rubens Barrichello by over 12 seconds. Montoya in 3rd is almost 30 seconds behind. Massa pits, he is on a 2 stopper.

Lap 14 : And Villeneuve passes McNish for 11th. Now Felipe Massa is trying to get ahead of the Toyota driver. Entertaining!

Lap 14 : Yet another fastest lap by Michael with a 1:47.706

Lap 13/44 : Top 10 - M Schumacher, Barrichello, Montoya, Raikkonen, Coulthard, R Schumacher, Trulli, Irvine, Salo and de la Rosa. Retirements: Jenson Button and Mark Webber.

Lap 12 : Jacques Villeneuve has now caught up with Allan McNish in 11th. Massa is close behind.

Lap 12 : Michael continues to push. His last lap was a 1:47.877 and now leads Barrichello by 8.8 seconds. Could he be on a different strategy ?

Lap 11 : Jenson Button is the second retirement of the day. He parks his car on the side of the track!

Lap 11 : Another fastest lap by Michael Schumacher and he now leads Barrichello by 7.5 seconds. Montoya in 3rd is almost 20 seconds behind!

Lap 10 : David Coulthard has close in on Raikkonen. Kimi is on the softer compound Michelin while David is on the harder compound.

Lap 10 : Another fastest lap by Michael Schumacher, a 1:48.243.

Lap 9 : Michael Schumacher now leads Barrichello by over 4.5 seconds!

Lap 9 : Michael Schumacher on the previous lap was a full second faster than Barrichello and 2 seconds faster than Montoya!

Lap 9/44 : Top 10 - M Schumacher, Barrichello, Montoya, Raikkonen, Coulthard, R Schumacher, Trulli, Irvine, Button and Salo. Retirements: Mark Webber

Lap 8 : Villeneuve manages to get ahead of Fisichella and takes 13th.

Lap 8 : Juan Pablo Montoya in 3rd is over 12 seconds behind.

Lap 8 : Villeneuve attempts to pass Fisichella without success. Meanwhile Michael Schumacher puts another fastest lap and leads Barrichello by over 3.5 seconds now!

Lap 7 : Fisichella in 13th is chased closely by Villeneuve and Massa. Fisichella is the leading non-Ferrari Bridgestone runner!

Lap 6 : Michael Schumacher puts another fastest lap with a 1:48.995. He is now 3 seconds ahead of Barrichello.

Lap 6 : And Felipe Massa passes Nick Heidfeld for 15th. Mark Webber retires.

Lap 5 : Interesting fight between the 2 Saubers in 15th and 16th. Massa is pushing Heidfeld.

Lap 5 : The gap between Michael and Rubens has stabilised at around 2.7 seconds and both are pulling away from Montoya.

Lap 4 : Michael Schumacher sets the fastest lap of the race so far with a 1:49.066

Lap 4 : Michael Schumacher leads Rubens Barrichello by 2.8 seconds. Montoya is 6.5 seconds behind!

Lap 3/44 : Top 10 - M Schumacher, Barrichello, Montoya, Raikkonen, Coulthard, R Schumacher, Trulli, Irvine, Button and Salo. No retirements.

Lap 2 : Juan Pablo Montoya has managed to pass Kimi Raikkonen and is now in 3rd!

Lap 2 : Michael Schumacher leads Rubens Barrichello by 2.2 seconds already!

Lap 1 : Montoya had a good start and got ahead of Ralf while Coulthard managed to pass Ralf.

The McLarens and the Renaults have an excellent launch control system. It will be interesting to see how well they start here. Formation lap in 3 minutes

The race here last year was incident filled. Montoya starting from Pole couldn't get going at the formation lap and had to start from the back. 6 laps into the race and Luciano Burti crashed at high speed and the race was stopped. At the restart Ralf Schumacher had his car still on jacks and had to start from the back of the grid. Michael Schumacher won the race ahead of David Coulthard and Kimi Raikkonen. Formation lap in 5 minutes

A number of Michelin runners have opted for the softer compound Michelin and that includes Kimi Raikkonen. There is concern that the softer compound will wear quickly during the race however the McLaren is believed to be gentle on tyres. Formation lap in 10 minutes

All the cars have made in onto the track in time. Pit exit has now closed. Formation lap in 15 minutes

Michael Schumacher seems unbeatable at this track. He out-qualified his team-mate Rubens Barrichello yesterday by over 0.6 seconds and this morning in the warm-up session he was just under a second faster than anyone else. Formation lap in 15 minutes

Michael Schumacher starts from Pole ahead of Kimi Raikkonen. Rubens Barrichello is third ahead of Ralf Schumacher while Juan Pablo Montoya is in 5th ahead of David Coulthard. Formation lap in 20 minutes

The pit lane has opened and the cars have 15 minutes to make their way to their grid position on the track. Formation lap in 30 minutes

Formation lap starting at 2:00 PM local time. It is mostly cloudy with an air temperature of 17 degrees.
